All-Outdoor, 4.5 GHz Ethernet and PDH Microwave Systems for Secure, High Capacity Government and NATO Applications

Starting at under US$7,000 per link, the ExtendAir® all-outdoor 4.5 GHz systems are entry-level microwave radios delivering high-end performance, range capability and data networking and security features never before seen in a NATO–band system.

ExtendAir is the first and only radio in the category explicitly designed for high performance LOS point-to-point operation. Most radios in this band are based on Wi-Fi™ or OFDM – technologies are designed for best effort wireless LAN access and simply repurposed for point-to-point operation. Compared to these systems, the ExtendAir r4500 series offers:

  • The only native TDM capability
  • The longest range at any throughput level
  • Full configuration control for predictable, guaranteed operation
  • 10x to 1000x greater resistance to noise and interference at any throughput level
  • The lowest TDM and Ethernet latency for a single channel system– as low as 0.5 ms
  • Highly secure with optional NIST FIPS-197 128-bit and 256-bit AES encryption
  • Ideal for highly reliable voice and data command center operations
  • Extremely spectrum efficient

ExtendAir All-Outdoor 4.5 GHz Applications
The ExtendAir all-outdoor 4.5 GHz radios are designed to serve a wide range of IP/Ethernet and TDM applications, including:

  • Video surveillance backhaul for field and mobile command operations. ExtendAir's variable throughput symmetry maximizes spectral efficiency in spectrum-limited environments, while collocation ability and optional 3xFE simplifies dense camera placement challenges and minimizes required equipment.
  • P25, Land Mobile Radio, and Field Operations backhaul. Only native TDM systems like ExtendAir can meet the latency requirements of emergency and field LMR or P25 communications systems, ensuring the delivery of voice communication and simultaneous high speed data.
  • Campus connectivity. High speed, point-to-point, secure communication for voice and Ethernet transport with QoS, VLAN and rate limiting allowing data-network policies to easily extend across the link, while ensuring the quality of latency-sensitive applications such as VoIP and video.
