Amir Zoufonoun
Chief Executive Officer and Founder

Amir Zoufonoun founded Exalt Wireless in 2014 and subsequently acquired the assets of Exalt Communications, a company he had previously founded in 2004.  In both companies, Amir has served as President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board.  Amir has over 30 years of experience in the wireless connectivity industry, including 13 years at Western Multiplex where he was the visionary executive champion and wireless business founder responsible for the development and launch of numerous successful new wireless categories and extensions, and the growth of that company's installed base from zero to over 150,000 wireless connectivity systems worldwide. Under Amir's leadership as president and chief operating officer, these market successes led to significant periods of profitable growth, multiple mergers and acquisitions, and a LBO which led to a highly successful IPO with over $1B market cap on NASDAQ. Amir also spent 10 years at Harris and Farinon, a wireless connectivity pioneer, in various management and engineering positions focused on delivering fixed and portable wireless systems for voice, data and video transmission.  Amir holds a BSEE from San Jose State University, a MSEE from Santa Clara University, and is a SEP graduate of the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

Gordana Pance
Chief Operating Officer and Founder

Gordana Pance is a co-founder of Exalt and serves as its Chief Operating Officer and a board member of the company. A seasoned executive with extensive operating background, Gordana has over 20 years of experience in the wireless networking industry. Prior to Exalt, Gordana held various management roles at Western Multiplex, Glenayre and Proxim, most recently as senior vice president of engineering and product management leading multiple teams responsible for all products including point-to-point radios, point–to-multipoint, wireless LAN, and WiMAX. Gordana was a key driver behind the development and introduction of multiple generations of highly successful and best-in-class wireless connectivity products. Gordana holds a BSEE degree from the University of Belgrade, and MS and PhD degrees, also in electrical engineering, from the University of Rochester, New York.

Nader Vasseghi
Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer
Nader is responsible for leading the development and execution of Exalt’s extensive technology portfolio and products. He also helps define Exalt’s technology innovation strategy in order to bring best-of-breed wireless connectivity solutions to our customers worldwide. He has over 30 years of experience in executive leadership and senior management roles in public and private companies. Nader's entrepreneurial experience spans from founding and leading the software start-up company, SelfOptima, to Founder and CEO of AuroraNetics, a technology start-up delivering packet transport and processing solutions, which was successfully acquired by Cisco in 2001. At Cisco, as the GM of the Advanced Routing Technology Business Unit (ARTBU), he started and led the growth of this new BU to over $700M in annual revenue in 5 years, and with staff across 6 sites around the globe. Prior to joining Exalt wireless, Nader led the engineering and customer services functions at Firetide, a wireless mesh systems company delivering high performance fixed and mobile Wi-Fi based networking solutions. Nader holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from University of California, Santa Barbara and a master’s degree from University of Southampton, England.

Robert Schlaefli
Executive Vice President of Operations
Robert Schlaefli has over 25 years of experience in operations and general management for high technology firms. Prior to Exalt, Robert headed operations for start-ups Teak Technologies and Loea Corporation, a manufacturer of E-Band 70/80GHz point-to-point digital radios. Previously, Robert was the vice president of global operations for Stratex Networks (now Aviat Networks), a leading global supplier of microwave backhaul equipment, and also served as vice president and general manager of DMC Stratex Networks NZ Ltd. in Wellington, New Zealand. During his 5 years with Stratex Networks, Robert was responsible for revenue growth from $30M to $200M. Earlier in his career, Robert served as division president at Signal Technology specializing in the development and manufacture of microwave products serving telecommunications and defense markets. Robert is a graduate of the management program at AEA Institute, Stanford University.

Fred Huey
Chief Financial Officer
Fred has more than 20 years’ experience working with technology and entertainment companies in Silicon Valley. Prior to Exalt, Fred was the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Allied Telesis, Inc. where he managed Allied Telesis’ finance and accounting functions for North America, Latin America, and EMEA. Fred also held various financial and management positions within the Sega Group from Sega of America, Inc., CSK International headquarters, and Sega.com over a 16-year period. Fred was critical in the development of Sega Mobile, a division of Sega.com dedicated to bringing mobile gaming to the forefront of the video game industry in North America. He has extensive experience with U.S. restructuring, financial reporting, strategic and financial planning, and overseeing mergers and acquisition deals. Fred graduated from San Francisco State University with a B.S. in accounting.

Manouchehr Rafie, Ph.D.
Vice President of Access Products and Technologies
Dr. Rafie is responsible for leading the development of Access Products and innovative wireless technologies at Exalt. He brings over 25 years of advanced wireless semiconductor and systems design experience spanning a broad range of LTE(A)/3G/WiMAX/Wi-Fi/xDSL technologies. Prior to joining Exalt, Dr. Rafie held executive/senior technical roles at various startup and large companies. Most recently, he was the senior director of engineering at Argela Technologies, a Turk Telekom subsidiary, leading the LTE SmallCell products. Dr. Rafie was director of systems and technologies for next-gen (vectored) xDSL products at Ikanos. At National Semiconductor (TI), he directed multi-disciplined teams to develop 3G chipset/handsets. Prior to that, Dr. Rafie was the CTO at CALY Networks developing LMDS wireless mesh networks. As the VP/CTO at Avide Wireless, he developed a high quality video streaming platform, utilizing 802.11a/g technologies. Dr. Rafie was the group director at Cadence Design Systems where he founded and managed three Communications Design Centers. Earlier in his professional career, Dr. Rafie was an adjunct professor at UC Berkeley and Kansas University. Dr. Rafie holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Kansas University. He has over 75 publications and served as chairman, lecturer or editor in a number of technical conferences and professional associations worldwide.

Bala Balasekar
Vice President of Engineering Programs and Software Development
Bala brings over 20 years of experience in the wireless and wireline networking technologies to Exalt. He oversees all engineering development programs and leads all software development. Prior to joining Exalt, Bala served in both technical and management roles at various networking companies including Cisco, Navini Networks, and Kentrox. Bala led the development of IEEE 802.16e based Mobile WiMAX Base Station software at Navini and later 802.11 based Wi-Fi Access Point software development at Cisco. Besides wireless technologies, Bala also has developed software systems for TDM, ATM, SONET/SDH and VoIP technologies. Bala holds BS Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University and MS Electrical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology.

David Gaither
Vice President of Solutions and Services

David Gaither comes to Exalt with over 20 years of technical and management experience in the internetworking and wireless networking industries in companies such as Retix, Ascom-Timeplex, Solectek, Navini Networks, Cisco Systems. Prior to Exalt, David created and ran Global Services for the start-up Navini Networks, a manufacturer of broadband wireless radios in MS-CDMA and WiMAX technologies with worldwide service provider deployments, which was acquired by Cisco Systems. Prior to beginning his high-tech industry experience, David served 2 tours of service in the U.S. Marine Corps specializing in ATC Radar System operation and maintenance. David holds a BS in Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship from the University of Phoenix.
