Advanced Encryption Standard (AES)
Exalt provides optional support for both 128-bit and 256-bit AES encryption, providing operators with the most powerful tool available for ensuring data security, thus minimizing the real-world threats of theft and liability. And with 256-bit AES, Exalt radio systems meet all the requirements for FIPS-197.
Unlike many competitors, Exalt radio systems make use of hardware-based encryption to ensure that the process of encrypting data does not affect user throughput or add latency. By contrast, commonly used software-based encryption can reduce throughput by as much as 50%.
In addition to AES, Exalt offers 96-bit proprietary security as a standard feature on all radio products.
Exalt supports SNMPv3, thus ensuring the protection of potentially sensitive network monitoring and management traffic through secure user authentication and message encryption. Many competing products support only SNMP v1 and/or v2c, both of which have known security issues.
System Access Security
All Exalt systems support two access levels to ensure security when logging into the system. The Administrator user level allows control and configuration of all radio parameters, while the User level allows read-only access to these parameters.
