The Exalt Capacity Expansion Kit provides a cost-effective solution to instantly add DS3, T1s, and up to 200Mbps of Ethernet capacity to existing 6GHz (Part 101) microwave links. The solution utilizes the adjacent license-exempt 5 GHz bands with a set of unique characteristics such as rapid deployment, unrestricted channelization, and flexible transmission bandwidths. It also leverages existing transmission infrastructure such as RF cables, waveguides, and antenna systems, thereby minimizing equipment costs, labor costs, and deployment time. By utilizing these license-exempt bands, the Exalt Capacity Expansion Kit eliminates the high costs and long lead times associated with leased lines, new fiber, or deploying additional FCC licensed links.
The Exalt Capacity Expansion Kit allows the connection of any tri-band 5GHz EX-i Series radio model to either 6U or 6L Part 101 systems, using 1 or 1.5 rack spaces, and requires no FCC licensing. The 5GHz EX-i radios support all three 5 GHz sub-bands in one system with multiple models that can provide a DS3 port as well as 16xT1 interfaces and 10/100 BaseT Ethernet, all in a single 1.5 RU enclosure. The capacity expansion solution is typically installed in less than one hour per end with less than 1dB loss to the licensed system.
