The EX-5i wireless backhaul microwave radio from Exalt Communications is a new breed of all-indoor 5 GHz radio. The EX-5i is a 5GHz tri-band system operating in the 5.25-5.35 GHz, 5.47-5.725 GHz, and 5.725-5.850 GHz bands, with 200Mbps user-throughput in a software-defined, carrier class system with high spectral efficiency, security, and unprecedented spectrum management flexibility.
Along with the 200Mbps of user-throughput data capacity, the EX-5i provides up to four T1/E1 interfaces to enable PBX or trunk line interconnectivity and a seamless migration path from TDM to native IP-based services.

Exalt’s breakthrough spectrum-management technology provides up to 54 non-overlapping frequency channels, with 1 MHz fine tuning capability across the three 5GHz bands. This results in as many as 415 center frequencies of operation to choose from without new hardware or system re-tuning. As an additional interference countermeasure, the EX-5i provides 8, 16, 32, and 64MHz channel bandwidth to help maximize band usability and throughput. And, ExaltSync™ provides unmatched synchronization capability for high-density collocation and spectrum reuse.
